What causes Decay?
Bacteria that live on teeth. When sugar is consumed, bacteria use sugar to manufacture acids that dissolve the teeth and cause tooth decay.
Cavity destroys the tooth structure and weakens it. If this problem is not addressed and treated early, the decay would reach nerves and tissues within the tooth, which may cause infection and pain. At this point, tooth will require root canal treatment. If lot of tooth structure is lost and tooth is deemed non-restorable, we might have to extract the tooth. Getting your fillings done early will prevent this from happening and will also eliminate pain caused by sensitivity due to untreated cavity. This will not only reduce your dental expenses but will also promote your oral health.
